About The Club
About Us — No Visa Society
There is a particular kind of homesickness that has no address to return to. Not quite grief, not quite joy — something in between, folded into the smell of a certain spice, the sound of a language spoken quickly on a street corner, the shape of a doorway you haven't stood in for years. This author knows it well. No Visa Society was created for everyone who carries a second country inside their chest.
We began in New York, in 2022, as a small act of remembering. What started as one traveler's private notebook of longing became a society — a gathering of citizens of somewhere and of nowhere, bound not by a passport stamp but by the ache and beauty of having left something behind to become someone new.
A Letter Each Month
Once a month, a letter finds its way to your door. Real paper, real ink, sent the old way — because some things should never arrive instantly. Inside, there is always a question. Sometimes it is gentle: what did your mother's kitchen sound like on a Sunday? Sometimes it is quieter still: what do you miss that no one else remembers to ask about?
The question is never just a question. It is a small door back. Back to a waiting room at an airport, a language half-forgotten, a street you used to know by heart. You do not have to answer it out loud. You only have to let it take you there for a moment, the way a single word in an old tongue can undo an entire year abroad. You will receive poscards and monthly calendar cards, meant to be shared with others. Each monthly edition is exclusive and will only be available for purchase up to three months after publishment and will not be returned.
The Passport
Every member is granted a passport upon joining - which is the heart of the Society. The passport does not prove where you are from. It proves that you remembered — that this month, when the letter came, you sat with the question a while and wrote something true. Page by page, it becomes less a booklet and more a small archive of who you were before, and who you are becoming here.
